Happy Birthday Pinkie Pie!!!

After a long trip to Florida (and numerous sites along the way), we are back!!!

So for a quick recap of the trip:

We left La Hacienda very early (1 AM) on Monday the 8th and arrived without incidence to the fabulous Beau Rivage in Biloxi, Mississippi. We checked in and upgraded to a luxury suite that was truly fabulous. Anna liked the power switches for the curtains best but I think the rest of us enjoyed the luxury of a private elevator best. The next morning, Steph and I made our way down to the spa and enjoyed a very leisurely spa day together which included steam rooms, whirlpools, hot stone massages, pedicures and facials. Then after having all the toxins removed from our bodies we retired pool side to watch Anna swim and to drink strawberry banana daiquiris and pina coladas. Later we went to a show and much later Jerry and I played in the casino. Steph and Jerry also played some and Anna got to play in the arcade.

Wednesday found us in Lake Park Georgia where we stayed for a couple of days visiting Jerry's oldest son Jerry and his family. They plan to move there permanently within the next couple of years. Kim (his wife) has inherited some land there from her grandparents and they are tired of Homestead. It was a great visit.

Friday morning found us at the Financial Aid office at Flagler in St. Augustine. We straightened out that mess and then headed over to the business office and picked up Stephanie's financial clearance card. Then to Ms. Tatem's office to get Steph's keys and then we started moving her in in earnest. It is amazing how much stuff one can cram into a Durango--we made the move from the storage unit to the college in one trip!!!

Jerry's other son, Jon, and his wife and daughter drove up from Homestead and stayed in St. Augustine to visit with us. It was all good and it went all too fast...........(I miss you Stephie!).

Sunday found us once again at the Beau. No upgrades this time as we were now down to just the three of us (Kirsten of course was at home all this time doing cheer camp). We stayed in one of the ordinary wonderful rooms and rode the elevator with everyone else. Jerry and I played in the casino for a couple of hours. I remain a winner at the Beau!!!

Last night we stayed somewhere nondescript--an Amerihost Inn I think--in Batesville, Mississippi, home of the Batesville Casket Company. We fell about 2 hours short of our goal of making it through Memphis and into Arkansas. We just couldn't. So this morning we were up by four and on the road by five. And we are home to be with KD on her birthday, but you guessed it (!) she is at cheer practice. The party awaits.
